FAQ

Q1. What is semi-permanent makeup?

A form of micro pigmentation (permanent makeup). • Pigments are deposited very superficially into the skin using sterile single use different size needles to suit each individual client. • Last between 1-3 years. Touch ups are necessary to maintain color vibrancy and shape definition. • Pigment is deposited between the epidermis and the dermis therefore the pigment will fade as your skin naturally exfoliates. • Color will lighten and fade out before it has a chance to change to a primal color (blue or red). Look unnatural. The more touch ups applied the longer it will stay in the skin.

Q2. How many sessions are needed?

Two sessions are needed 4-6 weeks apart. Some may need a 3rd session 8 weeks after the second session.

Q3. What factors will affect my semi-permanent makeup?

• Constant STEAM! This means HOT showers! Frequent hot showers will cause premature fading as well as premature AGING. Hot showers are great but need to be taken once a month not every day or every other day especially not more than two times a day! It causes inflammation and cellular breakdown. You will save on all of the expensive skin care, facials, and potential plastic surgeries if you can try to refrain from constant hot steam showers. • An active lifestyle with swimming, constant sweating, and/or saunas will cause premature fading. I recommend applying a thin layer of any of the following: Vaseline, and ointment before swimming or doing anything where sweat is involved. It sounds crazy but if it helps retain your brows and keep them perfect, why not. • Oily skin type • Smoking • Some medications

Q4. Will it hurt?

A good rule of thumb is if tweezing hurts, then your skin will be sensitive to this procedure. A topical medical grade lidocaine is applied to help with any discomfort. Most clients claim it to be more of an annoyance than painful Applied to help with any discomfort. Most clients claim it to be more of an annoyance than painful.

Q5. What is the downtime and healing process?

Expect to leave your appointment with your brows looking solid and darker. Ointment (provided) has to be consistently applied for 5/6 days. No swimming, sauna, HOT steam showers, excessive sweating, anything where you're immersed in water. Yes! You will have dark and shiny brows! And it will be completely worth it! After a week it will fade 50% in color and 25% in thickness. Please look into our AFTERCARE for more detailed instructions. Usually 1-3 years, with refresh appointments recommended. Hair Stroke / Feather Touch Tattooing can last a shorter or longer period depending on your skin type (IT DOES NOT LAST AS LONG AS BLOCK / POWDER TATTOO) This is because we are creating fine, delicate strokes so make it look as natural as possible. Other factors that play a role in longevity are skin colour, pigment used, thickness of the lines, and mostly how aggressive your immune system is in metabolising the pigment. Factors such as sun exposure, some skin creams and lotions, exfoliating treatments, medications / illnesses and many similar factors can affect fading of your tattooing. I suggest clients have a refresh treatment every 12months to keep the shape looking its best! Some clients on certain medications and skin types that are oilier may need a colour refresh/ boost every 6 to 8 months. (However no guarantees are offered or implied in regards to how long it will last before you need to have your refresh appointment.)

Q6. Do you do colours for blondes?

YES we have over 30 colour combinations to choose from and can custom mix any colour to suit each client.

Q7. Are the results different for different skin types?

YES they do oily skin types will soften the pigment in their skin more than dryer skin types. Oily skin type may require more frequent colour boost session than other skin types as they are likely to fade quicker This skin type has also more of a tendency for the hair strokes to heal more blurred not crisp like dryer skin types.
